The Tombs of the Kings area takes its name from one of the most awe-inspiring archaeological sites in the Mediterranean, a vast UNESCO-listed necropolis of rock-hewn tombs dating to the 4th century BC, where Paphian nobles (not kings, despite the name) were buried in palatial underground chambers.
